Aerobics Instructor for Older Adults Rooted Rehabilitation provides clients with quality therapy and wellness services. We connect our partner agencies to the top therapists, instructors, and trainers to achieve efficient and effective goal-oriented results for our clients.Job Summary:
Rooted Rehabilitations is currently seeking a self-motivated and compassionate Aerobics Instructor to deliver premier excellence of care and is enthusiastic about working with older adults in a senior living community.Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead exercise sessions in one or more assigned fitness areas, such as Tai Chi, aerobics, stretching/flexibility, yoga, circuit training, general fitness, weight training, and/or specialty training by implementing effective teaching methods, giving equal attention to all participants.
- Responsible for administering professional and effective program-specific skills according to course description.
- Address members who are not performing exercises correctly by demonstrating proper form and techniques.
- Develop positive relationships with participants and provide motivational support and guidance to support members in their healthy living goals.
- Respond promptly and courteously to all member inquiries/needs.
- Set up and monitor class equipment, ensuring equipment remains in working condition. Report all equipment repair needs to the supervisor immediately.
- Advise participants on program and class procedures and policies, as appropriate.
- Complete additional reports on class/participant progress as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to teach one or more formats including but not limited to Strength/Tone, Yoga, Pilates, Kickboxing, Aerobic/Dance or specialized instruction including varying dance formats, martial arts, or other recreational activities.
- Minimum of 1 year aerobics instruction experience
- Minimum of 1 of the following certifications or specialty trainings: Hold a current Group Fitness Instructor certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization such as the
AFAA, ACE
ACSM or comparable Hold a current specialty training or workshop certification from nationally recognized organizations such as Spinning®, Zumba®, Beachbody LIVE, TRX, Yoga Alliance, or comparable- Able to understand and interpret complex written or verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check
- CPR/AED certification required
