Our space is warm, neutral, and design-forward, built around movement, strength, recovery, and community. Our current schedule includes yoga, hot yoga, sculpt, and restorative formats, and we're looking to expand our movement offerings with Barre . About this role We're looking for confident, energetic Barre instructors who can lead fun, challenging, form-focused classes for mixed-level students. We're especially interested in instructors who know how to create an effective full-body workout using intentional, low-impact movement, repetition, resistance, and strong musicality—while still making the class approachable for students who may be completely new to Barre. What you'll teach
Barre:
A low-impact, full-body strength class incorporating elements of barre, Pilates, functional movement, core work, and resistance training.
Classes may incorporate:
Barre-based movement and holds Light weights and resistance Core and glute work High-repetition, low-impact strength exercises Mobility and stretching Music-driven sequences and intentional pacing You're a strong fit if you Have experience teaching Barre, Pilates, Sculpt, dance-based fitness, or similar group fitness formats Cue form, alignment, and muscle engagement clearly Understand how to safely progress and modify exercises Have strong musicality and can teach confidently to a playlist Bring energy and personality while still prioritizing technique Can confidently manage a room of mixed-level students Create classes that feel challenging, intentional, and well programmed Are warm, reliable, professional, and community-minded Probably not the right fit if Your teaching is primarily slow flow, restorative, or meditation-led You don't currently incorporate strength or resistance work Qualifications Barre certification required Previous group fitness teaching experience required Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain before start date Strong understanding of alignment, anatomy, and injury-aware cueing Comfortable offering modifications and progressions for different ability levels Reliable, punctual, and prepared Availability for mornings, evenings, and/or weekends Nice to Have (Not Required): Boutique fitness studio experience Pilates, Sculpt, yoga, dance, ballet or strength-training background Experience teaching heated or warm fitness classes Ability to teach more than one format Compensation & Perks Guaranteed base hourly pay for scheduled shift hours Attendance-based class bonuses Complimentary studio classes Flexible scheduling Opportunities to grow into additional recurring classes as our Barre program expands Opportunity to help shape and develop Shanti Glow's Barre offering How to Apply Please submit: Resume Short teaching bio Relevant Barre, Pilates, fitness, or movement certification(s) Teaching video or social media clips, if available Selected applicants will be invited to an in-person audition at Shanti Glow in Norwalk.
