DEFY Studio & Wellness is a fitness and recovery studio built around the idea that wellness should be intentional, elevated, and accessible in one place. We offer small, instructor-led classes including Strength Training, Yoga, and Low-Impact Cardio alongside wellness and recovery services such as Red Light Therapy, Halotherapy (Salt Therapy), Infrared Sauna, Compression Therapy and other Restorative Offerings. Our goal is to provide a space where members of our community can move, recover, and reconnect with themselves without needing to visit multiple studios to support their full wellness routine. Position Summary:
A Strength Training (DEFYne) Instructor leads safe, effective, and engaging small-group strength training classes designed to help clients build strength, improve overall fitness, and develop confidence in their mobility. Instructors are responsible for guiding participants through structured workouts, demonstrating proper exercise technique, and providing modifications to accommodate a range of fitness levels. The instructor helps foster a motivating, supportive, and inclusive environment while representing the studio's commitment to high-quality instruction and intentional programming.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead small-group strength training classes for participants of varying fitness levels. Demonstrate and clearly coach proper exercise technique for strength and resistance training movements. Provide exercise modifications and progressions to ensure accessibility and safety for all participants. Monitor participants throughout class and offer guidance to support proper form and injury prevention. Create or follow structured class programming aligned with the studio's training format and goals. Foster an encouraging, motivating, and inclusive class environment. Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness for scheduled classes. Assist clients with equipment setup and ensure safe use of weights and training tools. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workout space and equipment before and after classes. Collaborate with studio staff and occasionally participate in team meetings, trainings, or community events. Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification required (NASM, ACE, ISSA, NSCA, ACSM, NCSF, or equivalent) Certification must remain active throughout employment CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain). Passion for coaching and creating an exceptional member experience. Experience leading group fitness or strength training classes preferred. Strong understanding of strength training principles, exercise technique, and injury prevention. Ability to coach proper form and provide regressions and progressions for different ability levels. Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills. Passion for fitness, wellness, and helping clients reach their goals. Reliable, professional, and comfortable working with individuals of diverse fitness backgrounds. Availability for early morning, evening, and/or weekend classes. Ability to open and / or close the studio independently. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation & Benefits:
