A Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructor develops customized exercise and fitness programs for clients. Reviews health and fitness goals, teaches correct and safe exercise technique, monitors progress and provides encouragement for clients. Leads fitness and exercise classes at a community center, club or pool. Teaches aerobics, water, strength building or other exercises and maintains equipment.

This opportunity is ideal for an instructor who enjoys working with adults of varying ages and experience levels in a welcoming community recreation setting. We are looking for someone who can create a safe, engaging, and inclusive class that promotes strength, flexibility, balance, relaxation, and overall wellness. This position offers the opportunity to step into an established Sunday morning class with a consistent participant base, allowing you to focus on teaching rather than building attendance from scratch. Independent Contractor Compensation:
$60-$65 per class , depending on qualifications and experience. Essential Duties Plan and lead a safe, engaging, and well-organized yoga class each Sunday morning. Provide appropriate modifications for participants of varying abilities and fitness levels. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants. Arrive early to prepare the classroom and greet participants. Maintain professional communication with participants and Sports Center staff. Encourage safe movement, proper alignment, and body awareness throughout class. Uphold all Mark Green Sports Center policies and safety procedures. Minimum Qualifications Current Yoga Instructor certification from a recognized yoga teacher training program (200-hour certification or higher preferred). Current CPR/AED Certification. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to safely teach participants with a variety of fitness levels and abilities. Ability to meet all contractor onboarding requirements prior to beginning instruction. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching Hatha, Gentle, Flow, or similar yoga styles for adults. Experience teaching in a community recreation center, fitness center, or wellness facility. Experience working with older adults and beginner participants. Additional fitness or wellness certifications. Bilingual abilities are a plus. Requirements Prior to Contract Approval Selected applicants must be able to provide or obtain the following before beginning instruction: Current Yoga Instructor certification. Current CPR/AED Certification. Successful completion of a background check coordinated through the City of Union City. Current Tuberculosis (TB) clearance/test. Valid City of Union City Business License. Professional General Liability Insurance.
