Dream Community Center is a new vibrant and inclusive space dedicated to empowering individuals of all abilities. We provide supportive, enriching programs tailored to meet the needs of our neurodiverse community. We're currently seeking a compassionate and creative Adaptive Yoga Instructor to lead small-group yoga and meditation classes for 2-3 neurodiverse teenagers and adults. Classes are every Saturday from 10-10:45am (on-site hours are 9:50am to 10:50am).
Position Overview:
As a Yoga Instructor, you will design and lead engaging, accessible fitness classes that promote health, confidence, and relaxation. You'll work closely with participants to adapt and modify exercises based on individual needs and abilities, creating a positive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead small-group yoga class for neurodiverse participants Adapt exercises to accommodate a wide range of physical abilities, sensory needs, and learning styles Foster a welcoming, respectful, and joyful class atmosphere Communicate effectively with participants, families, and staff to support individual goals Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workout space Track participant progress and provide encouragement and positive reinforcement Collaborate with Dream Community Center staff to continually improve program offerings
Expectations:
Skilled in adapting and modifying exercises to meet a variety of needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills High level of patience, empathy, and enthusiasm Must bring a sense of fun, creativity, and flexibility to each session CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Demonstrated experience working with neurodiverse individuals, preferably teens and/or adults preferred but not necessary
