Job Description
Join an Integrated Rehabilitation, Fitness, and Wellness Team The Fitness Lab is seeking a personable, motivated, and client-focused Pilates Instructor to provide individualized private and duet Pilates sessions at our Greenwood Village location inside Paragon Athletic Center. This is not a traditional high-volume group Pilates position. Our Pilates program is centered primarily on personalized instruction, with instructors working one-on-one with clients and leading duet sessions for two clients with compatible goals and ability levels. Paragon Athletic Center provides an integrated environment where rehabilitation, fitness, performance, recovery, and wellness come together under one roof. Our Pilates instructors have the opportunity to work alongside physical therapists, fitness professionals, trainers, and wellness providers while serving an established community of patients, members, and clients. Our ideal instructor is passionate about movement, enjoys building strong client relationships, and can adapt each session to the client's goals, experience, physical abilities, and limitations. We welcome applicants at all experience levels. Whether you are an established Pilates professional or a newer instructor looking to grow, we are interested in candidates who are dependable, eager to learn, and committed to delivering an exceptional client experience. A background as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant is a significant plus but is not required. For qualified PTs and PTAs, a blended clinical and Pilates position may be available, allowing the candidate to divide their schedule between patient care and private or duet Pilates instruction. Candidates with education or experience in rehabilitation, exercise science, kinesiology, personal training, fitness, recovery, or wellness are also strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Provide personalized private Pilates sessions for individual clients. Lead duet Pilates sessions for two clients with compatible goals and abilities. Understand each client's goals, movement history, Pilates experience, and physical limitations. Create safe, individualized, and progressive Pilates programming. Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, corrections, cueing, and encouragement. Modify exercises appropriately based on fitness level, movement ability, previous injury, and individual needs. Monitor client progress and adjust programming as appropriate. Build strong client relationships that support retention and long-term results. Maintain professional communication with clients regarding scheduling, progress, and follow-up. Collaborate with physical therapists, trainers, fitness professionals, and wellness providers when appropriate and within professional scope. Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and safe Pilates environment. Inspect and care for Pilates equipment before and after sessions. Participate in facility events, educational programs, or community outreach opportunities as appropriate. Represent The Fitness Lab's mission, standards, and core values. Candidates selected for a blended clinical and Pilates position may also provide physical therapy services within their professional license and assigned clinical schedule. Qualifications Pilates instructor certification through a recognized training program or currently progressing toward certification. Understanding of Pilates principles, movement mechanics, exercise progression, and appropriate modification. Ability to provide attentive, professional, and personalized instruction. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable working with clients of different ages, fitness levels, experience levels, and physical abilities. Reliable, punctual, organized, and committed to maintaining scheduled sessions. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. Current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain it. Preferred Qualifications The following are considered valuable additions but are not required: Previous private or duet Pilates experience. Licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. Comprehensive Pilates certification. Degree or professional experience in physical therapy, exercise science, kinesiology, athletic training, personal training, or a related field. Experience working with clients transitioning from rehabilitation into independent exercise. Experience working with clients who have previous injuries, chronic conditions, mobility limitations, or post-rehabilitation fitness goals. Strong interest in integrated health, recovery, fitness, performance, and lifelong wellness. Experience collaborating with healthcare, rehabilitation, fitness, or wellness professionals. An established Pilates client following or an interest in building a private client base. Licensed PTs and PTAs may be considered for a combined clinical and Pilates role based on credentials, experience, availability, and organizational needs. Who You Are You may be a strong fit for this position if you: Are positive, professional, and approachable. Enjoy working closely with clients and building long-term relationships. Believe programming should be individualized rather than one-size-fits-all. Take ownership of the client experience. Communicate clearly and professionally. Welcome coaching, feedback, and continuing education. Understand when an exercise should be progressed, modified, or discontinued. Have an interest in rehabilitation, fitness, movement, recovery, and wellness. Want to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Why Join The Fitness Lab? At The Fitness Lab, we bring rehabilitation, fitness, and performance together through personalized, evidence-informed care to help people recover, move better, perform better, and live better at every stage of life. Our Greenwood Village clinic is located inside Paragon Athletic Center, providing instructors with access to a professional athletic and wellness environment and an established community of patients, athletes, members, and clients.
