A complimentary membership and discounts on studio merchandise. Position Overview We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Trainer to join our team at FS8 Jericho. As a trainer, you will lead engaging workouts, inspire our members, and embody our core values of belonging, compassion, communication and consistency. You will play a crucial role in fostering a welcoming environment while delivering high-quality fitness experiences.
Key Responsibilities Before Class:
Prepare for a pre-programmed workout by reviewing all relevant materials. Memorize workout timing and prepare visual, verbal, tactile, and kinesthetic cues for all movements as well as progressions, regressions, and pre- and post-natal modifications. Ensure the room and equipment are set up properly and neatly. Welcome new members, introduce them to the space and equipment, and assess for injuries and health considerations.
During Class:
Provide form corrections, addressing members by name and using cueing techniques. Offer appropriate modifications, both progressions/amplifications and regressions to run a safe, effective class. Cultivate a high energy, positive environment to motivate members, helping them to understand their own strengths and push past limitations. Remain alert and aware of the room, responding to individual and group needs as they arise.
After Class:
Offer praise and a friendly farewell to departing guests. Reset the room, tidying stations and wiping down equipment as needed. Connect with first time visitors and trial members.
Additional Responsibilities:
Collaborate with fellow trainers and studio managers to ensure efficient studio operation. Be an engaged member of the team; attend regular team meetings, complete necessary program training, and workout at FS8 Danbury at least twice per week. Arrive no less than 15 minutes early for scheduled classes, dress in the required uniform and maintain excellent personal hygiene
Required Qualifications:
Group Fitness certification or Pilates certification Experience teaching Pilates classes, personal training, or group fitness (minimum 1-2 years preferred) High school diploma or GED equivalent Current CPR/AED certification Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Passion for helping others improve their fitness and well-being Ability to motivate and engage members of all fitness levels Professional, punctual, and reliable
