Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and passionate Mat Pilates Instructor specialized in working with teens to join our dynamic competitive dance program. Specifically looking for availability on Mondays as early as 4pm beginning September 8th and running until late May! In this role, you will lead engaging, safe, and effective Pilates classes tailored specifically for teen dancers, fostering a positive environment that encourages movement, body awareness, and confidence. Your expertise will inspire young clients to develop strength, flexibility, and healthy habits through expertly designed routines that emphasize proper body mechanics and biomechanics. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on teens' physical health while advancing your career in the fitness industry. Responsibilities Lead group Mat Pilates classes for teens, demonstrating exercises clearly and safely while ensuring proper technique and form. Design age-appropriate Pilates programs that incorporate core strengthening, flexibility, coordination, and body mechanics tailored to adolescent needs. Motivate and engage teen participants through energetic coaching and positive reinforcement to foster a fun and inclusive class atmosphere. Monitor participants' safety during classes, providing modifications as needed and ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with dancers and their parents as needed about their progress, answer questions about exercise routines, and promote ongoing participation in programs. Maintain a clean, organized studio environment, ensuring all equipment is used correctly and stored properly after each session. Stay current with industry trends in Pilates instruction, biomechanics, youth fitness, and health & safety standards to continually enhance class quality. Qualifications Proven experience in Pilates instruction with a focus on group fitness classes; experience working with teens is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, body mechanics, and sports coaching principles relevant to adolescent development. Certifications in Pilates instruction; additional qualifications such as yoga instruction or dance teaching are advantageous. Knowledge of dance industry best practices including program design, coaching techniques, and client communication skills. Certifications in first aid, CPR/AED operation are desired to ensure participant safety during classes. Demonstrated ability to motivate young clients through energetic coaching while maintaining professionalism and safety standards. Physical fitness training experience including heavy lifting or cycling is a plus to support diverse movement routines.
