This role involves leading engaging, safe, and effective water-based exercise classes designed to improve cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in group fitness instruction, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have a passion for motivating clients of diverse ages and fitness levels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to promote health and wellness through innovative aquatic programs while ensuring participants enjoy a safe and rewarding experience. Responsibilities Lead structured water aerobics classes that incorporate various exercise routines such as kickboxing, Pilates, yoga, and cycling adapted for aquatic environments. Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and body mechanics to ensure participant safety and maximize benefits. Design and adapt fitness programs tailored to individual needs and group capabilities, emphasizing biomechanics, physiology, and anatomy knowledge. Motivate participants through energetic coaching, clear instructions, and positive reinforcement to foster a welcoming environment. Monitor participant health during classes, respond promptly to emergencies with CPR or AED protocols when necessary, and maintain safety standards at all times. Provide personalized fitness advice and support clients in achieving their health goals through effective communication and coaching. Maintain equipment, ensure cleanliness of the pool area, and adhere to manual handling procedures to promote a safe workout environment. Stay current with industry trends such as CrossFit, heavy lifting techniques, or sports coaching methods relevant to aquatic fitness. Promote upcoming classes or programs to enhance participation and support fitness sales efforts. Requirements Certification in Water Aerobics Instruction from a recognized organization; additional certifications in group fitness instruction (e.g., Yoga, Pilates, CrossFit) are highly desirable. Proven experience in teaching group fitness classes within a health club or gym setting. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and body mechanics related to aquatic exercise. Demonstrated ability to instruct diverse populations with varying fitness levels safely and effectively. Proficiency in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator), First Aid, and emergency response procedures. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage participants consistently. Physical fitness training experience including heavy lifting or manual handling is preferred. Familiarity with fitness industry standards for safety, program design, coaching techniques, and customer service excellence. Ability to demonstrate exercises clearly while providing practice opportunities for participants. Prior experience with health club operations or sports coaching enhances suitability for this role.
