Class Instructor- Water Aerobics Season Part-time
JOB SUMMARY
The Group Exercise Class Instructor must safely instruct students on proper fitness techniques in a group setting. Ability to teach a diverse population of participants. Provides an effective, yet safe class for each Member and guest in attendance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Include the following and other duties related to this position as may be assigned. Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm. Motivates Members and guests to excel and push themselves while demonstrating a caring attitude and conveying comments and suggestions with tact and constructive criticism. Knowledge of and the ability to perform required role in emergency situations. Instructs Members and guests on effective workout methods, explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises, identifies different muscle groups and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles Provides a safe and effective exercise program that meets Member, and guest needs as well as health parameters
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must have prior group exercise teaching experience. Experience in more than one discipline is desirable. Club experience is preferred. Employee must have the ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Excellent people skills are essential.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be certified with a current National Accredited Organization for Group Exercise. Current CPR and AED certification. Valid Driver's License is preferred
