POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the one-on-one personal and extensive instruction and progression of an individual's health and well-being. Responsible for helping a YMCA member to design a safe and effective personal health and wellness program that will allow the person to reach their personal goals and promotes engagement in the
YMCA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Works with member in designing and implementing a personal training/exercise program to include realistic, healthy lifestyle goals. 2. Information disseminated to members must remain in the scope of certification. 3. Schedules appointments with members; make reminder calls and follows-up with member between appointments. 4. Instruct member on proper use of equipment, proper exercise technique and intensity. 5. Assist in maintaining the Wellness Center equipment and facilities, including cleanliness. 6. Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and continuing job training. 7. Visually inspect work area and equipment for safety and risk, report to supervisor in writing any problems. 8. Maintains positive relations with members and other staff. Models relationship-building skills including Listen First in all interactions. 9. Communicate with management by using required digital technology to stay connected regarding work-related business. 10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum age requirement - 18 years of age 2. High school graduate or equivalent. 3. CPR, First Aid, & AED certifications required within 30 days of employment. 4. YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles certification within 60 days of employment. 5. Certification by a YMCA nationally recognised organisation (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM, ACSM). 6. Complete YMCA of the USA New Employee Orientation e-learning course.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position will require sudden movements, sitting, stepping, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and lifting. This position, by definition, is physically demanding and requires the person to be physically fit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
