The Position This is not a generic personal training role centered around cookie-cutter workouts or surface-level motivation. As a Personal Trainer at ND Wellness, you will: Evaluate posture, breathing mechanics, gait, and foundational movement patterns including hinging, squatting, lunging, pushing, pulling, and rotation Design and coach unconventional strength programs using tools and methods such as landmine work, mace and steel club training, rotational and anti-rotational exercises, offset loading, sleds, carries, tempo work, and isometrics Progress clients through mobility, motor control, strength, and power development while respecting tissue tolerance and movement quality Work collaboratively with clinicians, recovery specialists, and bodyworkers to ensure all aspects of a client's care and training are aligned Coach movement with precision, including breathing mechanics, ribcage and pelvic positioning, thoracic rotation, bracing, and foot stability Reassess movement and performance metrics regularly to validate progress and ensure results are measurable Training Methods & Equipment You'll work with a wide variety of tools and movement concepts, including: Landmines Maces and steel clubs Kettlebells and dumbbells Cables and resistance bands Sandbags Sleds and loaded carries Programming principles may include: Gait-based strength development Fascial sling and spiral systems Pressure and breathing mechanics Thoracic spine mobility and rotation Ground-up power generation and movement transfer A major focus of this role is helping clients turn improved mobility into real-world strength and usable capacity through progressive loading and intentional programming. Ideal Candidate You may be a strong fit if you: Hold an active CPT certification (NASM, NSCA, ACSM, CSCS, or equivalent) Have hands-on experience with rotational training, landmine programming, and unconventional training tools such as maces or clubs Can quickly assess movement quality and coach breathing, bracing, and positioning effectively without overcomplicating it Communicate professionally, document clearly, and collaborate well within a multidisciplinary team Prioritize long-term client outcomes over aesthetics or trends Additional experience with PRI, DNS, FRS, gait analysis, or myofascial-based movement systems is a strong plus. What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days Successful trainers at ND Wellness help clients achieve measurable improvements in movement quality, pain reduction, and physical performance. Progress is validated through reassessment—not guesswork.
