Overview BLISS Wellness apart of BLISS Health inc is seeking a knowledgeable, personable, and adaptable Exercise Physiologist/Fitness Trainer to provide individualized fitness and medical-fitness services to our diverse patient and client population. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in exercise physiology, anatomy, fitness assessment, and comprehensive exercise-program design. This individual must be able to connect with people from different backgrounds, fitness levels, age groups, and health conditions while creating a welcoming, inclusive, and professional experience. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments, including cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, mobility, flexibility, balance, posture, and functional movement. Review health histories, exercise limitations, medications, physician recommendations, and individual goals before developing exercise programs. Design safe, individualized, and progressive fitness programs based on assessment findings, medical considerations, and client goals. Provide one-on-one and small-group training sessions. Work with clients ranging from beginners and deconditioned adults to active individuals and athletes. Adapt exercises for clients with chronic health conditions, physical limitations, previous injuries, or reduced exercise tolerance. Provide clear instruction on exercise technique, breathing, posture, and safe equipment use. Monitor exercise response, including perceived exertion, fatigue, pain, blood pressure, heart rate, and other relevant signs and symptoms. Document assessments, sessions, progress, and program modifications accurately and professionally. Educate clients on physical activity, recovery, healthy lifestyle habits, and long-term exercise adherence. Collaborate professionally with BLISS Wellness staff and other members of the client's healthcare team when appropriate. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming training environment. Protect patient privacy and maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Skills Proven experience in sports coaching and personal training within the fitness industry Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, and body mechanics Certified in first aid, CPR, AED operation, with current liability insurance coverage Ability to create engaging program designs that incorporate fitness sales techniques and customer service excellence Skilled in coaching diverse populations with motivational techniques tailored to individual needs Experience teaching physical education or leading group fitness classes is highly desirable Competent in nutrition advice and health club operations to support holistic client wellness Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Science, or a closely related field. Strong understanding of exercise physiology, functional anatomy, biomechanics, and safe exercise progression. Demonstrated ability to build comprehensive, individualized fitness programs. Experience administering and interpreting fitness and functional assessments. Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-education skills. Ability to modify exercises in real time based on a client's ability, comfort, medical status, and movement quality. Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population. Current CPR/AED certification. Dependable, organized, professional, and comfortable working independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive health information appropriately. Spanish-speaking or bilingual. Preferred Qualifications(not required) Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. ACSM Exercise Physiologist, NSCA-CSCS, NASM-CPT, ACE-CPT, or another nationally recognized certification. Some Experience in medical fitness, clinical exercise physiology, rehabilitation, chronic-disease management, or preventive health. Experience working with older adults, deconditioned individuals, weight-management patients, and clients with chronic health conditions. Experience with body-composition testing and individualized interpretation of results. Experience with EMS training is helpful but not required. You should be able to build trust, communicate without judgment, meet clients at their current level, and adjust your coaching style to fit different personalities, cultures, health needs, and levels of exercise experience. Compensation $26-$32 per hour Compensation is based on education, certifications, clinical knowledge, and relevant experience. This is a 1099 independent-contractor position.
