The Part-Time Welcome Center Associate / Fitness Instructor Substitute serves as the first point of contact for members, guests, and visitors while providing exceptional customer service and administrative support at the Welcome Center. This position also supports the Fitness Department by serving as a substitute group fitness instructor and may be assigned to teach regularly scheduled classes based on qualifications and program needs. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, dependable, and passionate about health, wellness, and building relationships within the community. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Welcome Center
- Welcome members and guests in a warm, professional, and engaging manner.
- Check members into the facility and verify membership status.
- Answer phones and respond to member inquiries regarding memberships, programs, schedules, and facility information.
- Process memberships, program registrations, payments, and retail transactions.
- Maintain accurate member records using membership management software.
- Assist with facility tours and provide information about programs and services.
- Support opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Welcome Center.
- Resolve member concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Enforce facility policies while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Assist with administrative and clerical duties as assigned. Fitness Support
- Substitute for group fitness instructors as needed.
- Teach assigned group fitness classes in accordance with department standards.
- Create a safe, motivating, and inclusive fitness environment.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and offer modifications for varying fitness levels.
- Ensure participant safety during all classes.
- Assist with promoting fitness programs and member engagement.
- Support fitness events, orientations, and wellness initiatives. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Previous experience teaching group fitness classes preferred.
- Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, Les Mills, or equivalent), or the ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain before teaching classes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required based on operational needs.
- Flexibility to cover Welcome Center shifts and substitute fitness classes on short notice is preferred.
