Varies Monday - Saturday mornings and/or afternoon & evenings.Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Barre Instructor to lead engaging, high-energy classes for adult participants of all fitness levels. The ideal candidate is passionate about health and wellness, creates a welcoming and inclusive environment, and motivates participants through safe, effective workouts that improve strength, flexibility, balance, and posture.Responsibilities:
Plan and lead dynamic barre classes using proper technique and alignment. Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate varying fitness levels and physical abilities. Ensure a safe, supportive, and positive class environment. Demonstrate exercises clearly while offering verbal cues and individualized feedback. Arrive prepared and on time with class plans and any necessary equipment. Maintain a clean and organized studio space before and after class. Foster participant engagement, retention, and a sense of community.Requirements:
Prior relevant experience is highly preferred. Must be energetic, responsible, dependable, and have the ability to multi-task. Certified Barre Instructor through a recognized organization (or equivalent fitness certification with barre experience). Previous experience teaching barre classes in a fitness, dance, or wellness setting. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before employment). Strong communication, motivational, and customer service skills. Ability to safely instruct participants of diverse ages, abilities, and fitness levels. Experience with ballet, Pilates, yoga, dance, or group fitness is highly desirable.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High degree of human relations skills. Ability to effectively communicate and manage information to peers, participants, staff and volunteers. Ability to motivate, coach, and lead participants in the field of health & wellness..Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and actively instruct for the duration of each class (typically 45-60 minutes).
- Demonstrate and perform a variety of barre exercises.
- Frequently walk, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and lift arms overhead while providing instruction and feedback.
- Maintain the stamina and endurance required to lead multiple classes as scheduled.
- Verbally communicate instructions clearly and effectively throughout class.
- Lift, carry, and move fitness equipment (such as mats, resistance bands, light weights, and portable barres) weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Observe participants and provide hands-on or verbal corrections when appropriate to ensure proper form and safety.
- Work in a fitness studio environment with moderate noise levels and varying room temperatures.
- Possess sufficient visual and auditory acuity to monitor participant performance and respond quickly to safety concerns.
