We're looking for someone who is passionate about health and fitness, reliable, professional, and takes pride in what they do. This role is designed for a trainer looking to establish a strong afternoon/evening and weekend schedule, with opportunities for additional training and coverage as needed. You'll train a diverse client base through one-on-one, semi-private, and small-group sessions, develop individualized programs, coach proper exercise technique, and provide a top-notch experience for every client. Applicant Requirements Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field OR a nationally recognized personal training certification Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification Ability to consistently work Monday-Thursday evenings (3-8pm) and weekends Some flexibility to provide additional training coverage outside of regularly scheduled hours as needed Strong communication and relationship-building skills Professional, reliable, and punctual Ability to work independently and take initiative Motivated to build and maintain a consistent client base Reliable transportation Athletic background preferred Desired Skills Skilled in developing individualized workout programs based on clients' health histories, physical conditions, and goals Strong understanding of exercise technique, movement quality, and safe progression Experience with strength and conditioning and advanced programming Ability to effectively coach clients across a wide range of fitness levels Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term client relationships Adaptable and comfortable working with clients outside of their regular roster when additional coverage is needed Responsibilities Train clients through one-on-one, semi-private, and small-group sessions Assess client capabilities, limitations, and goals Develop and maintain customized training programs Educate and demonstrate exercises to ensure proper technique and safety Track client progress and adjust programming appropriately Provide a professional, engaging, and high-quality client experience Provide additional training coverage when needed and when scheduling allows Attend monthly staff meetings Assist with basic maintenance and upkeep of the facility Contribute to Wattage's professional and team-oriented environment Schedule This is a part-time position primarily focused on Monday-Thursday afternoon/evening hours (3-8pm) and weekends (Saturdays/Sundays). The position is designed for a trainer who wants to build a strong and consistent client base during these hours. Additional scheduling flexibility is highly valued, as there may be opportunities to provide coverage and train clients during morning or daytime hours when needed.
