Weekend & Early Morning Mind & Body Instructor - Yoga, Pilates, Barre & Mobility Job Summary Catalyst Dance Company is seeking a welcoming, knowledgeable, and motivated Mind & Body Instructor to help grow our adult wellness programming in Lenexa, Kansas. We are looking for instructors with experience in one or more of the following areas: Yoga Mat Pilates Barre Mobility & Stretch Strength & Mobility Pilates or Barre Sculpt Stretch & Recovery Core and Balance Similar mind-body or low-impact fitness formats You do not need to teach every format listed. We are interested in both instructors who specialize in one discipline and versatile instructors who are qualified to teach multiple class styles. Our goal is to create high-quality, approachable classes for adults of varying ages, fitness levels, and experience. We want participants to feel comfortable whether they have years of experience or are trying a class for the very first time. This is a great opportunity for an instructor who wants to help build and grow a program rather than simply step into an already established schedule. Responsibilities Lead engaging, professional group classes in your area or areas of expertise Demonstrate proper technique, alignment, and movement patterns Provide modifications and progressions for different fitness and experience levels Create thoughtful, varied class plans focused on strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, recovery, and overall wellness Maintain a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment Prioritize participant safety and appropriate movement mechanics Communicate professionally with participants and Catalyst staff Build relationships with participants and help foster a strong adult wellness community Maintain a clean and organized studio space before and after class Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes Marketing & Class Growth Because our Mind & Body program is continuing to grow, we are looking for instructors who are excited to help build their classes and develop a loyal following.
Instructors should be comfortable:
Promoting their classes through their own social media and professional networks Sharing Catalyst-provided marketing materials Encouraging current and prospective participants to attend classes Helping generate referrals and repeat attendance Participating in occasional promotional content, photos, or videos when appropriate Catalyst will also actively support the program through studio social media, email, website promotion, community outreach, and other marketing efforts. We view class growth as a partnership between the instructor and the studio. Schedule We are currently looking to expand our Mind & Body programming during: Early weekday mornings Saturday afternoon Sunday mornings/afternoon Additional daytime or evening opportunities may become available as the program grows Potential weekday classes may be scheduled before the traditional workday, depending on instructor availability and demand. Exact days and times will be determined based on instructor availability, class format, and participant interest. We are open to instructors who are available for only certain days or class formats. Qualifications Previous experience teaching Yoga, Pilates, Barre, mobility, group fitness, or a related discipline preferred Relevant certifications strongly preferred where applicable Strong understanding of safe movement, proper form, alignment, and appropriate modifications Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, professional, and comfortable working with adults of varying ages and abilities Ability to confidently demonstrate the movements required for the classes you teach CPR/AED certification preferred Willingness to help promote and grow assigned classes Existing local client base, social media following, or professional network is a plus Compensation $30-$40 per class , based on experience, certifications, class format, and overall qualifications. Additional compensation may be considered for highly experienced instructors, instructors with multiple certifications, or instructors who bring an established following. About Catalyst Dance Company Catalyst Dance Company is a growing dance and movement studio in Lenexa, Kansas. In addition to our youth, recreational, and competitive dance programs, we are expanding our adult programming with classes focused on movement, strength, flexibility, mobility, recovery, and overall wellness. Our goal is to create an adult program that feels welcoming, approachable, and community-focused while still providing high-quality instruction. We are especially interested in instructors who are excited about helping us build something from the ground up and becoming a meaningful part of the Catalyst community.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$30.00-$40.00 per class
Expected Hours:
Approximately 1-10 hours per week initially, with the potential to grow as enrollment increases
Schedule:
Early weekday mornings and weekends, with potential additional opportunities
