Ashland Area Ymca in Ashland, KY is looking for an aqua class instructor to join our 30 person strong team. We are located on 3232 Megan Neyer Way. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and hard-working. The Aqua Class Instructor leads safe, fun, and effective water-based fitness classes for YMCA members and guests. This role promotes health and wellness while building a supportive community environment. The instructor provides engaging workouts suitable for all fitness levels, ensuring a positive experience that aligns with the YMCA's mission of strengthening spirit, mind, and body for all. Benefits Free YMCA membership Flexible scheduling since classes will be held in the morning Responsibilities Plan and teach aqua fitness classes that include warm-up, cardiovascular, strength, and cool-down segments. Demonstrate proper techniques and offer modifications for varying abilities and fitness levels. Maintain a safe environment by monitoring participants, enforcing pool rules, and following YMCA safety standards. Set up, clean, and store aquatic equipment before and after each class. Build positive relationships with members; encourage regular participation and personal fitness growth. Communicate any incidents, maintenance issues, or participant concerns to the Aquatics Director. Attend staff meetings, required trainings, and maintain current certifications.

Qualifications Minimum age:

18 years Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (Lifeguard certification preferred) Water Fitness Instructor certification (AEA, YMCA, or equivalent) preferred or willing to get certified Experience teaching group fitness or aqua fitness classes preferred Strong communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and leadership in a group setting We are looking forward to receiving your application.
