The Fitness Instructor leads safe and effective fitness classes, promotes proper exercise techniques, and creates a positive experience for participants. Instructors are expected to maintain clear communication, attend required trainings and meetings, and assist with cleaning and facility maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities :
Properly and safely instruct group fitness formats to participants. This includes accident prevention, proper techniques and guidelines. Other responsibilities include punctual attendance to all mandatory staff meetings, in-service trainings, and assistance with cleaning duties. Clear communication between employee(s) and employer is a must.
Qualifications :
General:
Ability to follow written and verbal directions, can commit to at least two semesters of teaching class(es) and friendly and customer service oriented.
Skill:
Obtain and maintain CPR/AED, and First Aid and national fitness certification such as AFAA, ACE, ACSM or Zumba or completion of in-house Group Fitness Instructor Training.
Physical:
To maintain fitness level required to be a group fitness instructor, attend and perform successfully at in-service training sessions.
