Job Summary Seeking a professional Personal Trainer. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in planning and implementing one-on-one strength training and assisted stretching sessions, as well as leading groups of up to 8 people in small group fitness/ circuit training sessions. This role involves conducting individual and group fitness sessions and ensuring a safe, welcoming and professional workout environment. No on-site training will be provided - candidate should come in already knowing how to program and lead strength and mobility sessions. Responsibilities Design and implement personalized fitness programs tailored to individual client goals for adults ages 30-80. We specialize in functional and mobility training for busy adults. Conduct engaging fitness classes for groups up to 8 people in a small space, while fostering a sense of community. Attending to the needs of multiple clients at the same time is key. Provide instruction on proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, and safety protocols. Provide assisted table stretching as add-on and stand alone services. Assess clients' fitness levels and progress, adjusting programs as needed. Maintain immaculate record-keeping, manage a constantly changing schedule. Maintain consistent and clear communication with gym administrators and clients. Maintain a clean and organized workout space. Stay updated on the latest fitness research to provide clients with the best guidance. Foster positive relationships with clients, with an eye toward client retention. Work as part of the training team, work respectfully in limited space with other trainers and staff members, attend bi-monthly staff meetings and in-house continuing education programs. Requirements Degree in exercise and sport science, physical therapy, or a related field, or certification in personal training and group fitness instruction from a recognized organization. CPR certification required before beginning with clients. Knowledge of physiology, body mechanics, and exercise science principles. At least one year of experience working one-on-one with adult fitness clients in a professional capacity; more experience is preferred. Examples could include personal training, physical therapy tech, or assisted stretching facility. At least one year of experience working in small groups with adult fitness clients in a professional capacity; more experience is preferred. Examples could include group fitness, group rehab, small group personal training, or coaching a team. Experience planning, implementing, and progressing fitness programs based on clients' goals. Experience in mobility training, thai bodywork, or massage is a bonus. Experience in leading mat yoga and/or mobility classes is a plus. Ability to communicate with administrators, in person, via text and email, in a timely and professional manner, especially in time-sensitive conversations is absolutely key. Ability to keep impeccable records regarding training sessions and notes on individual clients' progress and training specifications. Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism, hold clients accountable and set a positive tone. Willingness to substitute for other trainers and instructors, and take on more clients over time. An interest in assisting adults and older adults, in maintaining and increasing mobility for life-long health and wellness.
