GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Interested in part-time employment? Join our team and help support programs that enrich community members of all ages! The Division of Community & Resident Services is currently seeking part-time recreation leaders to support the daily programming and activities at their community centers for participants of all ages, with a primary focus on youth.

Locations:

Black & Williams Neighborhood Center and Tates Creek Community Center Schedule:

Shifts are generally scheduled from 2p-8p, depending on the center, averaging approximately 20 hours per week. Coverage is primarily needed in the afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends. During school breaks (summer, spring, fall, and winter breaks), shifts generally move to mid day hours.

Rate of Pay:

$16.00 per hour, no benefits are included

Requirements:

Subject to a criminal record check and child abuse and neglect (CAN) check Responsibilities may include: Experience working with adults aged 60 and older Strong communication and interpersonal skills Customer service mindset with a focus on positive member experiences Organizational skills to support daily operations of the fitness facility Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and member-focused environment Responsibilities may include: Supervise recreation center attendees and assist with implementing recreation programs, activities, and special events Support the Recreation Supervisor with participant recruitment, creative program planning, and administrative tasks Monitor participants to ensure safety and follow all risk management procedures and division protocols Document participation and incidents as required Set up, organize, and clean up activity spaces and program materials Communicate effectively with participants, families, coworkers, and supervisors Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants

Kowledge and Skille Preferred:

At least one year of experience working with youth; elementary - high school Strong communication and interpersonal skills Organizational and planning skills to support daily operations of the facilities Ability to create and maintain a positive, respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Reliability, professionalism, and willingness to take on additional tasks to support program operations Perform other duties as assigned to support overall program operations How to
