Job Description
Yoga and Meditation Instructor flow together Louisville, KY Job Details Contract $27.40 - $40.00 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Training program Certified Yoga Instructor Working with students Safety-focused fitness instruction Yoga instruction Teaching Full Job Description About the Role We are seeking a yoga teacher who brings together the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of yoga. This role is for someone who sees yoga not simply as a physical practice, but as a pathway toward greater presence, devotion, connection, and inner awareness. The ideal teacher is deeply grounded in bhakti yoga and is able to create classes that feel welcoming, contemplative, and accessible. Through gentle movement, breath, meditation, chanting, reflection, and other practices, the teacher will help students slow down, reconnect with themselves, and experience yoga as a practice of relationship and devotion. Core Responsibilities Teach gentle, accessible yoga classes appropriate for a range of ages, bodies, and experience levels. Integrate the principles and practices of bhakti yoga into classes in an authentic and approachable way. Incorporate elements such as meditation, pranayama, mantra, chanting, intention-setting, readings, or contemplative reflection when appropriate. Create classes that emphasize presence, self-awareness, compassion, and connection rather than physical performance. Offer clear, supportive instruction and modifications so students can participate safely and comfortably. Cultivate a welcoming environment where students feel respected regardless of their yoga experience, physical ability, or spiritual background. Share spiritual teachings in a way that is invitational rather than prescriptive, allowing students to engage at their own level. Model the values of humility, compassion, service, gratitude, devotion, and non-attachment. Help create a sense of community among students through thoughtful teaching and genuine connection. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and prioritize students' physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Participate in ongoing learning and personal practice to deepen both teaching skills and spiritual understanding. What We're Looking For A committed practitioner of yoga with a meaningful personal spiritual practice. Experienced in teaching gentle, restorative, slow-flow, or similarly accessible forms of yoga . Warm, grounded, compassionate, and emotionally present. Comfortable teaching students with varying levels of physical ability and experience. More interested in creating a meaningful experience than demonstrating physical prowess. Comfortable holding space for silence, reflection, emotion, and stillness. Committed to continued personal growth and learning. A person whose own life and practice reflect the qualities they invite students to cultivate. Qualifications Yoga teacher certification from a recognized yoga teacher training program. Experience teaching gentle yoga, restorative yoga, yin, slow flow, or comparable practices. Demonstrated knowledge or meaningful personal practice in Bhakti Yoga . Training or experience in meditation, pranayama, mantra, chanting, or contemplative practices is strongly preferred. Experience working with diverse populations and adapting practices for different needs is a plus. Additional training in restorative yoga, trauma-informed yoga, yoga therapy, or related fields is welcome. Our Philosophy We believe yoga is much more than movement. It is an invitation to remember who we are, become more present to our lives, and cultivate a deeper relationship with ourselves and one another. Our classes are intentionally gentle. We value breath over intensity, awareness over achievement, and connection over performance. We are looking for a teacher who can embody this philosophy—not simply teach a sequence of postures, but create a space where people can soften, listen, reflect, and reconnect . If you are someone who practices yoga as a way of living—not simply exercising—and who feels called to share a gentle, devotional, spiritually grounded practice with others, we would love to hear from you.
