Position Overview The Personal Training Manager leads the club's personal training business, develops and supports the trainer team, supports member engagement and retention, and ensures a safe, professional, and service-driven fitness experience. This role is accountable for team performance, member integration, revenue growth, operational execution, and partnership with club leadership. Lead and develop a high-performing Personal Training team through recruiting, onboarding, coaching, performance management, mentorship, and ongoing professional development. Drive personal training business results by achieving revenue and utilization goals, increasing member participation, supporting client retention, and monitoring key performance metrics. Create exceptional member experiences by overseeing consultations, assessments, onboarding, and member integration while building strong relationships and resolving concerns professionally. Ensure operational excellence by maintaining a safe, organized, and service-focused fitness environment, upholding company standards, and managing scheduling, documentation, and business systems. Partner with club and company leadership to achieve strategic goals, support club operations, serve as Manager on Duty when needed, and contribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Key Performance Evaluation Factors Personal training revenue performance Trainer productivity and schedule utilization Kick Off completion and new member integration Client retention, renewals, and engagement trends Accuracy and timely completion of administrative responsibilities Work Schedule This is a full-time, exempt management position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. The schedule will vary based on club, staff, member, and business needs and should include regular visibility during morning and evening prime times. Early mornings, evenings, weekends, special events, promotions, and month-end business needs may be required. The schedule is coordinated with the General Manager and reviewed with the VP of Fitness as needed.
Certifications & Education:
Nationally recognized Personal Training certification (ACSM, ACE, NSCA, NASM, or equivalent) and current CPR/AED certification required. Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience, including active-duty military service, considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of personal training experience with a proven ability to grow clientele, promote fitness services, and drive program participation. Prior fitness management or leadership experience preferred.
Leadership & Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal, coaching, customer service, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across departments.
Fitness & Business Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of exercise programming, fitness assessments, member experience, and training best practices, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and business management technology platforms.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
