Job Description

Job Title:
Group Fitness Instructor Job Purpose:
The Thoreau Club is located on a beautiful 35-acre campus and includes multiple indoor and outdoor pools, two large fitness centers, multiple exercise studios and children's spaces. Group Fitness Instructors act as a fitness resource for class participants and maintain positive relationships with members to encourage class attendance to facilitate a continued wellness journey. An instructor is responsible for leading classes through a variety of entertaining, educational, and fun classes to promote fitness and positive self-esteem in a welcoming environment. In doing so, they will meet daily class attendance goals as well as effectively promote the club's other programs, products, and services. Responsibilities Develop positive relationships with class participants by teaching a variety of challenging and entertaining group fitness classes. Educates class participants on correct form and alternative moves during the fitness routine. Attentively listens to members, answers questions, and engages in conversation before and after classes. Promotes other club programs, products, and services while specifically encouraging participation in group fitness classes Adhere and promote club policies to ensure the safety of class participants Current or willing to acquire
CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications Professional and Technical Knowledge and Qualifications:
Minimum of one of the following
Group Exercise Certifications:
National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), Cycling Certification, American Council of Exercise (ACE), American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA) Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and reach throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
