Our Club SMILE Mass program provides inclusive fitness, recreation, and social opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities. Activities include adaptive gym and fitness, swimming, music therapy, social skills, bowling, dance, and more. Our unique approach uses movement to stimulate the brain , supporting communication, voluntary movement, social interaction, confidence, and overall well-being. We are looking for a passionate and energetic Adaptive Fitness Coach who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. Hours Weekdays approximately 3:00pm to 6:00pm Saturdays approximately 12:00pm

  • 5:00pm Candidates do not need to cover every day.

Candidates do not have to work Saturdays. Key Responsibilities Develop & Implement Individualized Programs Design and lead safe, engaging exercise and movement programs tailored to each individual's abilities, goals, and needs. Modify exercises and activities to accommodate a wide range of physical, cognitive, and communication abilities. Demonstrate exercises and provide hands-on assistance when appropriate. Must be comfortable and physically able to perform wheelchair transfers. Monitor Progress Observe participants and adjust exercises and programs based on individual progress and needs. Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and progress. Communicate observations and recommendations with Club SMILE Mass staff and families as appropriate. Collaborate with the Club Team Work closely with Club SMILE Mass staff and coaches to create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment. Support participants during group and individual activities. Communicate effectively with team members regarding participant needs, progress, and safety. Continue Learning Stay current with trends, techniques, and best practices in adaptive fitness and exercise. Bring creativity and new ideas to help make fitness and movement accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a fitness, recreational, therapeutic, or related setting. Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, occupational therapy, or a related field preferred , or equivalent relevant experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a team. Ability to adapt exercises creatively for individuals with different abilities and needs. Comfortable working with individuals who may require hands-on physical assistance. Must be able to safely perform wheelchair transfers and assist participants with physical activities. Ability to lift weights and demonstrate exercises.
