The City of Kentwood is seeking a Senior Fitness Instructor to lead fun, safe, and effective group fitness classes designed for participants ages 50+. In this role, you'll guide participants through classes focused on improving balance, strength, and endurance while creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. If you enjoy working with seniors and have a passion for fitness and wellness, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference. What You'll Do Lead engaging group fitness and wellness classes for a variety of skill levels (e.g., yoga, strength, dance-based classes) Provide clear instruction, demonstrate proper technique, and offer modifications as needed Motivate and support participants through encouragement and positive coaching Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants Maintain attendance records and required program documentation Monitor and manage equipment and supplies used during classes Demonstrate professionalism and provide excellent customer service to participants and staff Senior Fitness Classes include: Chair Flex & Stretch, Chair Cardio Drumming, Zumba, Tai Chi Walking, Self Defense, Yoga, Line Dancing, TRX Suspension Training Each class is an opportunity to build connections, improve quality of life, and create a positive experience for participants About You You're enthusiastic, patient, and passionate about helping older adults stay active and healthy. You enjoy leading group activities, building relationships, and creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported.
Minimum Requirements:
