09/25/2026 The City of Grandview Parks & Recreation Department is looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Full-Time Recreation Leader to join the Guest Services team at The View Community Center. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with people and can confidently help keep a busy community center running smoothly. The Recreation Leader provides high-quality customer service at the front desk while assisting with memberships, registrations, room rentals, facility operations, and day-to-day customer needs. The position also serves as the supervisor in charge of front desk operations when opening and closing the facility. What You'll Do Welcome members and guests with a positive, professional attitude. Assist with daily admissions, membership sales, program and class registrations, and facility tours. Provide excellent customer service and respond to questions, concerns, and public complaints. Open and close The View and serve as the supervisor in charge of front desk operations. Handle cash transactions and complete required reconciliations. Manage room rental scheduling, setup, cleanup, and quick turnover between events. Work directly with rental clients to help ensure a positive experience. Train Member Service Attendants and new employees on front desk procedures and computer systems. Update, enter, and audit information in computer databases. Assist with phone operations, concession sales and inventory, and front desk materials. Support the Customer Care Coordinator, Customer Care Supervisor, and Business Development Manager with daily operations. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: dependable comfortable working with the public able to take initiative capable of balancing multiple responsibilities in a busy environment Strong communication skills and the ability to follow established policies while using good judgment are important for success in this position.
Candidates must be able to:
read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance, have knowledge of personal computers and database/word-processing software Successfully complete background and reference checks. A high school diploma or GED and previous customer service and/or cash-handling experience are preferred. Bilingual candidates are also encouraged to apply. Physical & Work Requirements This position requires extended periods of standing and may involve walking, climbing, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Employees also regularly use computers, telephones, and other standard office equipment.
