Job Description
Overview We are seeking an energetic and motivated Senior Fitness Instructor to lead, inspire, and elevate our fitness community. In this dynamic role, you will design and deliver engaging group fitness classes and ensure a safe, motivating environment for all participants. Your expertise will help clients achieve their health goals while fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. Responsibilities Lead a variety of group fitness classes including Cardio & Core and Strength & Flexibility with enthusiasm and professionalism Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and ensure participants perform routines safely through hands-on guidance and practice Develop tailored fitness programs that meet individual client needs, goals, and fitness levels Provide motivational coaching to encourage clients to push their limits and stay committed to their fitness journeys Ensure safety protocols are followed by performing manual handling procedures and maintaining first aid readiness at all times Maintain excellent client communication by offering clear instructions, feedback, and support throughout sessions Skills Extensive experience in group fitness instruction Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and body mechanics for effective program design and injury prevention Certifications in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, first aid, and relevant fitness industry credentials Proven ability to motivate clients through coaching techniques that foster confidence and sustained engagement Skilled in demonstrating exercise routines with clarity while ensuring proper form and technique Ability to work with the senior citizen demographic in a professional manner Ability to communicate effectively with the general public and other staff members Ability to work independently and efficiently without routine supervision Minimum Requirements - Education Certification and Experience Must be at least 18 years of age Must hold an approved group fitness instructor certification and/or education and experience, including SilverSneakers instructor certification Current CPR certification Work Environment Indoor multipurpose facility Equipment used: weights, resistance bands, yoga blocks, mats, chairs, straps.
