A Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructor develops customized exercise and fitness programs for clients. Reviews health and fitness goals, teaches correct and safe exercise technique, monitors progress and provides encouragement for clients. Leads fitness and exercise classes at a community center, club or pool. Teaches aerobics, water, strength building or other exercises and maintains equipment.

Job Description

This position will assist in planning, organizing, and developing various recreational activities/events for individuals with disabilities. This individual will also assist in implementing and evaluating programs, supervising volunteers, answering telephones, providing public information, taking registrations and reservations, collecting program fees, and initiating/organizing new activities for individuals with disabilities. The position performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Age:
18 years old, at the time of application
Requirements:
Experience with working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Applicants should be available to work weekdays, nights, and some weekends, 8-12 hours per week depending on the event calendar. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire. This is a continuous recruitment and may close at any time Participate in Special Olympics practices, trainings, and competitions. Lead various Special Olympics sports as a coach. Assist with camps and clinics. Attend and monitor evening programs and events. Perform other duties as assigned.
