Job Description

Experienced Personal Trainer — Guaranteed Income, No Sales Earn an estimated $4,800-$5,000 per month at a full roster while coaching just 22 sessions per week. No split shifts. No sales quotas. No chasing clients. No paycheck surprises when someone cancels. You became a personal trainer to coach people—not to spend your day cold-calling gym members, selling packages, or sitting through unpaid gaps between appointments. At Fitspire Personal Training, we've built the role experienced trainers wish more gyms offered: We provide the clients and guarantee your base income. You focus on delivering exceptional coaching.
The opportunity:
Fitspire is a small, growing personal-training company in North Raleigh specializing exclusively in adults aged 50 and older. We're looking for an experienced coach who understands that great training is about more than counting repetitions. Our members need someone who can recognize movement limitations, modify exercises intelligently, coach around common aches and previous injuries, and help people become stronger without making them feel fragile. This is not a temporary side gig. We want someone who can become an important part of our small team and grow with Fitspire as we work toward opening additional locations. What you'll receive: Guaranteed monthly base income Month 1: $2,750 during onboarding Month 2: $3,500 Month 3 onward: $4,000 per month permanently Your base does not decrease when members cancel or miss sessions Recurring retention bonuses: You'll earn an additional $20 every month for each member who remains with Fitspire beyond their first month. A full roster is approximately 40-50 members, producing an estimated $800-$1,000 in monthly retention bonuses. Estimated monthly compensation at a full roster: $4,800-$5,000. There is no artificial cap on the retention bonus. A coaching schedule you can build your life around: Monday through
Thursday:
1:00 PM 2:00 PM 3:00 PM 4:30 PM 5:30
PM Saturday:
8:00 AM 9:00 AM Each session lasts 60 minutes. Fridays and Sundays are off. The schedule is fixed, predictable, and contains no split shifts. Your job is to coach. We provide the members. You will not be expected to: Sell training packages Cold-call prospective clients Find your own clients Build a personal book of business Work unpaid hours between sessions Perform unrelated administrative duties You will be expected to: Deliver attentive, high-quality coaching Build meaningful relationships with members Adapt exercises intelligently Notice changes in movement quality Help members train safely and confidently Know when a modification is appropriate and when someone should be referred to a healthcare professional Coach people—not crowds. Sessions are limited to six members. Our members generally train two or three times per week, so you'll coach the same people consistently and have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their lives. You won't be standing in front of a crowded room delivering a generic workout. You'll be expected to know your members, observe how they move, and coach each person appropriately. Approximately four weeks of paid onboarding. You won't be handed a schedule on your first day and expected to figure everything out. You'll receive approximately four weeks of paid, hands-on onboarding with the owner, Corey Nielsen, before independently leading sessions. We'll teach you how Fitspire coaches, how our sessions operate, and what our members expect.
Who will thrive here:
This opportunity may be a strong fit if you: Have approximately two or more years of hands-on personal-training, clinical-exercise, rehabilitation, strength-coaching, or closely related experience Hold an active, nationally recognized personal-training certification Hold current CPR/AED certification Know how to modify exercises for pain, previous injuries, and movement limitations Care deeply about movement quality and coaching technique Enjoy building relationships with adults age 50 and older Want predictable income without selling or prospecting Are dependable, professional, attentive, and coachable Want to become part of a small team and contribute to its long-term growth A college degree is not required. Demonstrated coaching ability matters more to us. This probably isn't the right role if: You are still learning the fundamentals of exercise modification You want to build your own clientele during Fitspire sessions You are primarily looking for a short-term gap filler You cannot consistently work the published schedule You prefer large-group instruction over attentive personal coaching Outside employment is permitted as long as it does not interfere with Fitspire's schedule or your commitment to our members. An opportunity to grow with
Fitspire:
Our new trainer will join a team of only three people. You won't be another number inside a large gym. Fitspire intends to expand to additional locations, with a second location tentatively planned in approximately 12 months. As the company grows, the right person may have opportunities to take on responsibilities such as head trainer or sales leadership. Future advancement will depend on performance, fit, and company growth, but we want to hire someone capable of growing into more than this initial coaching role.
How to apply:
Please submit your résumé and answer the application questions thoughtfully. We are intentionally selective. We're offering the right trainer stable income, a focused coaching role, and a chance to grow with a small company. In return, we're looking for someone with genuine experience, excellent judgment, and a strong commitment to the people they coach. If that sounds like the role you've been looking for, we'd like to hear from you.
