Job Description

Aquila's Fitness Specialist performs a wide range of technical fitness, exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.
Pay Rate:
$25.50-$28.50/hour, depending on credentials and experience.
Work Hours:
40 hours/week - 8 hour shifts sometime between 6 am and 5 pm.

Fully in-person - Cape May, NJ Company benefits for this position: Medical, dental, and vision coverage Life and Disability coverage Paid vacation and sick time Paid holidays Tuition reimbursement Continuing education reimbursements Performance bonuses Commuter pre-tax benefits Fitness retailers discount programs 401k plan with company match Responsibilities include: Conduct fitness assessments to determine the baseline fitness levels of population Lead fitness training sessions, including cardiovascular exercises, strength training, flexibility exercises, and endurance workouts. Provide guidance on proper nutrition and lifestyle habits to support overall health and fitness goals Monitor and evaluate the performance of population during fitness training sessions, providing feedback and adjustments as necessary Maintain accurate records of attendance, fitness assessments, and program outcomes Collaborate with client contacts to ensure the seamless integration of fitness training into the overall program curriculum Stay updated on current fitness trends, research, and best practices to continually improve the effectiveness of the fitness training program Provide daily routine cleanliness, inventory, and storage of exercise equipment used by the population Supervise exercise areas Aid population with spotting and equipment usage Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures Adhere to client's policies and procedures Attend staff meetings Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events Perform daily administrative duties Any other responsibility as assigned
Qualifications:
Active NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, NASM, NCCPT, NCSF, AFAA, ACSM or NSCA) - required B.S. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or in related health/fitness field (preferred) CPR certification - required U.S. citizenship required as this is a federal agency 0-1 years experience in supervising adults during exercises Skills required: Excellent verbal communication skills Knowledge of fitness training principles Customer service oriented Physically fit Organized Motivating, confident, and enthusiastic Positive attitude Punctual Dependable Knowledgeable Creative Maintain a desire for continual improvement
