Job Description

About Blackbird Blackbird is a boutique yoga studio built on the belief that the mat is just the beginning. We blend movement, music, and modern personal development to help our clients get out of their heads and into their bodies - creating a multi-sensory experience that goes far beyond a typical yoga class. We're on a mission to professionalize the yoga industry: elevated pay, real career growth, and a working culture that treats teaching as the skilled profession it is. About the Role We're looking for a Vinyasa Yoga Teacher who can deliver physically rigorous, emotionally resonant classes rooted in breath-to-movement flow. What You'll Do Teach dynamic vinyasa-based classes Curate intentional, ever-changing music for every class - no repeat playlists Deliver hands-on assists with consent, and radically personalized attention to every client Weave a modern, secular, or self-development theme into each class Use inclusive, body-positive language rooted in Health at Every Size (HAES) principles Stay present and available for connection before and after class — phones stay out of sight Participate in ongoing training, feedback, and performance reviews to continually elevate your craft Collaborate with studio leadership on workshops, specialty classes, and teacher training as you grow with us What We're Looking For Completion of a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training (or higher) Experience teaching vinyasa or flow-style classes Strong music curation skills and comfort using music as an intentional teaching tool Comfort with consensual hands-on assists and "teaching off the mat" A teaching style that prioritizes feeling and exploration over rigid alignment correction Ability to adjust class plan to students in front of you Familiarity with (or openness to) HAES and body-inclusive teaching practices Excellent communication skills and genuine warmth with clients Reliability, professionalism, and a growth mindset: we invest in you, and we want teachers who invest back Why Blackbird Pay above industry standard Complimentary studio membership (for you and one guest of your choice) Real opportunities for growth: coaching, workshops, teacher training, and more A values-driven studio culture committed to inclusion, professionalism, and doing yoga differently To Apply Send your resume and a brief note about why you'd be a great fit to nicole@blackbirdyogastudio.com AND ashley@blackbirdyogastudio.com
