A Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructor develops customized exercise and fitness programs for clients. Reviews health and fitness goals, teaches correct and safe exercise technique, monitors progress and provides encouragement for clients. Leads fitness and exercise classes at a community center, club or pool. Teaches aerobics, water, strength building or other exercises and maintains equipment.

Job Description
The Aquatic Fitness Instructor will conduct safe, fun, dynamic and effective water fitness classes based on YMCA Standards & Guidelines.
Rate:
$20 - $23 per classQualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in related field.
- Current CPR/AED and first aid certifications (American Red Cross).
- Must have an AEA Certification.
- Knowledge of YMCA Principles of Health & Fitness, Working with Older Adults, Older Adult Water Fitness Instructor, Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program Instructor certifications are a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communications skills.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

- Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
- Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.
- Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
- Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
