Job Description
Summary:
Fitness Center/Welcome Desk Attendant is responsible for welcoming and checking in member reservations/guests, enforcing the rules of the fitness center, answering questions about the equipment and fitness center, returning equipment to its proper place after it is no longer being used and to help keep equipment clean and orderly. Personal Trainer performs one on one training with personal training clients as well as gym orientations with new members. They are at times responsible for enforcing the rules of the fitness center. They are asked to make sure equipment is put in its proper place after it is no longer being used Essential Responsibilities - Fitness Center/Welcome Desk Attendant- Welcome and check-in member reservations/guests.
- Clean and maintain the fitness equipment
- Ensure members follow the posted rules
- Ensure the training area is safe for the members by periodically checking equipment
- Rotate responsibilities between Welcome Desk and Fitness Center with second Fitness Center/Welcome Desk Attendant on duty. Essential Responsibilities - Personal Trainer
- Be able to design programs that fit the needs and desires of their personal training clients.
- Be able to make and keep training appointments with clients, redeem sessions and properly enter session entries into a digital payroll system.
- Must be able to perform life saving techniques such as CPR and AED along with basic first aid.
- Ensure the training area is safe for the members
- Attend meetings and in-service training as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
The Fitness/Welcome Desk Attendant & Personal Trainer does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work- This is a part-time position.
- Includes Fitness Center tasks and responsibilities
- Scheduling is flexible and varies 7 days a week to match the needs of the members
Required Education and Experience:
- CPR/AED Certified
- Personal training certificate from one of the top organizations required
- Assisted Stretch certification preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of the latest techniques for fitness and weight loss.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations governing the fitness center.
- The ability to hold conversations and have a rapport with members.
- Ability to respond and assist effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to portray a professional attitude and maintain good relationships with the clients.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Able to demonstrate fitness/strength training techniques
- Provide a safe environment for personal training clients and surrounding members/guests
