Certified Personal Trainer Position Summary 585 Fitness is a growing boutique Fitness and Wellness studio in need of a highly friendly and courteous individual who is passionate about fitness and coaching others with purpose while providing first-rate customer service. Our trainers provide personalized attention, professional instruction, and exercise programming to each client to maximize the member's health, fitness, and wellness goals. The successful applicant will not only be responsible for mentoring and providing fitness guidance sessions with our clients but also for soliciting new business, teaching clients about the benefits of personal training and administrative work when not in a personal training session. We're looking for a motivated individual who can help us establish a competitive edge in Western New York.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide customized fitness programs to our clients while educating and guiding them on proper nutrition, cardiovascular exercise, resistance training and attaining a healthier lifestyle Talk to clients about their goals and introduce them to our personal training packages Evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements Administer, track and evaluate health history questionnaires, fitness assessments and other pre-participation documentation with regard to individual exercise programs Design exercise programs tailored to the needs of specific clients/goals Provide superior and impeccable customer service to members, program participants, and guests Provide encouragement and expertise to clients in support of their health and well-being goals Motivate and inspire clients to get results through goal setting, frequent follow-up Build a client base through conducting orientations and PT sessions and demonstrating the value of personal training, including safe and proper exercise techniques Assume the responsibility of training existing clients who are interested in increasing their fitness levels, losing weight Provide clients with safe, reasonable exercises that they can perform in the gym as well as at home Demonstrate and teach exercises while providing feedback on technique Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels to maximize benefits from exercise routines Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement. Inform clients about on gym safety and hygiene guidelines Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion. Monitor participants' progress and adapt programs as needed. Regularly check all equipment to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness Interact and engage with members on social media Administrative Duties as needed Assist in creating social media content Manage and update leads Lead group fitness classes when necessary Build a positive and trusting relationship with clients Advise clients on how to change nutritional and lifestyle habits as needed Attend all required meetings and training Give clients ample notice if you need to change appointment times and respond quickly to clients who must change their schedules Punctual and prepared for all appointments with clients or staff meetings Research on new exercise techniques and trends in the health/wellness industry and share with clients and fellow trainers Remain current on certifications and new trends in the industry Dedicated to maintaining personal integrity, personal health and fitness Skills Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, maturity and must be able to work independently Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing Ability to perform exercises and movements as demonstrations for clients Ability to self-promote and network Ability to motivate others to improve their overall fitness and health Possess excellent customer service skills. Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift Knowledge of anatomy, functional exercise, basic nutrition, and basic exercise science Demonstrated ability to work with all ages of individuals and groups at all ability levels. High level of attention to detail and quality of programming, service, and facilities. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Possess a current nationally recognized Personal Training Certification from ONE of the following organizations:
ACSM, ACE, NSCA, NASM, NPTI NSCA, ISSA PTA
Global, AFAA NESTA or
NCFS RTS
Resistance Training Specialist Must have current, valid CPR and First Aid certifications Available to work flexible hours 585 Fitness is an Equal Opportunity Employer
