Job Summary:
The Fitness Specialist is responsible for developing and running Sports Specific Strength and Conditioning programs at the Community Center. This includes program development, instructor supervision, class scheduling, member engagement, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and motivated leader who can inspire a culture of health, service, and community through innovative fitness experiences. Areas of expertise are strength training for athletes of all sports ranging from 5-18. Examples of programs Fitness Specialist will run that are established at the Community center: Learn to Lift for Kids, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Softball, Swimming or any other sport experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Fitness Director to run sports specific strength and conditioning programs Communicate regularly with Fitness Director on progress of programs and how to help outreach for Local Sports teams Create new ideas to bring in outside groups in Central New York to train high-performance athletes.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Fitness Trainings or Sports Conditioning Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Sound judgment and the ability to work with kids of all backgrounds Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field required. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required. Current national Group Fitness Certification, Personal Trainer Certification, Health Coach, Strength Coach, CSCS certification. Any of these certifications will suffice.
