POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructor to lead engaging fitness classes and promote a healthy lifestyle within our community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate participants of all fitness levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver a variety of group exercise classes, including but not limited to aerobics, yoga, pilates, and strength training. Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and fosters community. Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate participants' varying fitness levels and abilities. Monitor participants' form and technique to ensure safety and effectiveness during workouts. Maintain a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm during classes. Stay updated on fitness trends and continuously enhance personal knowledge and skills. Promote classes and engage with participants to build a loyal following. Join our team and help others achieve their health and wellness goals!
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed) Must be at least 18 years of age. High School education or equivalent preferred. 6 months or 60 hours of practical experience of group exercise class experience. Must be able to lift in excess of ten pounds. Certification in group exercise instruction from a recognized organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM). Strong knowledge of exercise techniques and principles. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to motivate and inspire individuals in a group setting. Experience in leading group fitness classes preferred.
