Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Gentle Yoga Instructor to lead calming, restorative yoga sessions designed to promote relaxation, flexibility, and overall well-being. In this role, you will create a welcoming environment where participants of all levels can experience the benefits of gentle movement and mindfulness. Your expertise will help clients improve their body awareness, reduce stress, and enhance their quality of life through thoughtfully guided yoga practices. We are looking for a permanent part-time instructor for Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10am Duties Lead engaging and accessible gentle yoga classes tailored to diverse skill levels and physical abilities Demonstrate proper postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness exercises to ensure safe practice Develop customized class plans that incorporate principles of anatomy, physiology, and body mechanics Provide clear instructions and hands-on guidance to support correct alignment and prevent injury Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages relaxation, self-awareness, and personal growth Monitor participants' physical responses during sessions and offer modifications as needed Maintain a clean, organized studio environment and ensure all equipment is properly used and stored Requirements Certification in Yoga instruction from a recognized organization with a focus on gentle or restorative yoga styles Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and body mechanics relevant to yoga practice Experience in group fitness instruction with the ability to demonstrate exercises clearly and effectively Strong understanding of health and safety protocols including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and manual handling techniques Ability to design safe, effective programs that accommodate varying fitness levels and health conditions Excellent communication skills with a motivating teaching style that inspires confidence in participants Prior experience working in health clubs, wellness centers, or similar fitness environments is preferred Additional skills such as Pilates, dancing, sports coaching or CrossFit experience are advantageous but not required
