Job Summary Fitness Instructors lead and organize group fitness classes for students, faculty, and staff at the Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center.
Instructors are responsible for:
designing and maintaining class structure and safety policies, capturing attendance, building progressive fitness programing through the course, providing modifications for all fitness levels, and ensuring a positive, welcoming environment. Interviews will be scheduled on an ongoing basis Core Duties Organize and lead group fitness classes Prepare progressive and fun classes inclusive of all abilities and backgrounds Scale workouts as appropriate for fitness levels Promote safety within class participants (sanitizing equipment, reporting any broken or worn-out equipment). Attend mandatory staff trainings Commit to teaching throughout semester and secure subs if needed Beauchamp Recreation Center staff work as a team to support our UP community. Complete additional relevant tasks as assigned Minimum Qualifications Fitness certification or relevent teaching experience Positive and welcoming attitude Available to teach throughout semester Knowledge and ability to scale workouts for all fitness abilities Preferred Qualifications Fitness certification in class teaching Previous experience teaching group fitness Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and school breaks Federal Work-Study in Financial Aid Package Physical Requirements Ability to demonstrate the skills and movements for the class Posting Detail Information Posting NumberSE1102-2023
