Performance Coach & Member Development Associate MetFit is looking for a Performance Coach & Member Development Associate to join our coaching team. This is a hybrid role designed for a trainer who wants to establish themselves inside a serious strength-training environment, build relationships across the membership base, and develop a strong personal training book within the gym. The position combines personal training, evaluations, member development, and scheduled front desk hours. The front desk component gives new coaches consistent paid hours while they learn the facility, become part of the MetFit community, meet members, prospect for clients, and build their personal training business. As your client base grows, there is opportunity for your role and earning potential within MetFit to grow with it. Personal Training & Coaching As a MetFit coach, responsibilities include: Delivering high-quality one-on-one personal training Conducting new-member and personal training evaluations Designing individualized training programs based on client goals Coaching proper exercise technique and safe training practices Tracking client progress and adjusting programming when needed Managing client scheduling and follow-up Developing strong long-term relationships with clients Helping members improve strength, performance, body composition, mobility, and overall fitness Proactively building and maintaining your personal training client base Representing MetFit's coaching standards and training culture Depending on experience and interest, there may also be opportunities to assist with semi-private, specialty, or group training offerings. Member Development & Front Desk Scheduled front desk hours are an important part of the position and provide coaches with consistent exposure to the MetFit membership base while they develop their personal training schedule.
Responsibilities include:
Greeting and checking in members Getting to know members and understanding their training goals Answering membership and facility questions Answering phones and responding to general inquiries Giving tours to prospective members Assisting with membership sign-ups Scheduling evaluations, consultations, and training appointments Following up with prospective members and personal training leads Identifying members who may benefit from additional coaching Helping new members become familiar with the facility Maintaining an organized and professional front desk environment Handling basic administrative and operational responsibilities Supporting management with day-to-day gym operations The goal of these hours is not only to provide front desk coverage, but to give coaches the opportunity to establish themselves within the gym, build credibility with members, generate training opportunities, and become part of the MetFit community. Compensation Compensation is based on the type of work being performed: $17/hour for scheduled front desk hours, evaluations, and other approved non-service work $40-$50 per completed personal training session, based on experience and qualifications As your personal training client base grows, a larger portion of your schedule can shift toward higher-paying coaching hours. This structure gives coaches consistent paid hours while they build their book rather than requiring them to enter the gym with an established roster of clients. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Holds a nationally recognized personal training certification Has a strong understanding and passion for strength training and exercise technique Can coach safely and confidently Communicates well with a wide range of members Is reliable, professional, and organized Takes ownership of client programming, scheduling, and follow-up Is proactive about developing relationships and building a client base Is comfortable prospecting and discussing personal training with members Wants to continue developing as a coach Wants to become an active part of the MetFit community Experience with powerlifting, bodybuilding, strongman, athletic performance, strength & conditioning, or other strength-based training is a plus. Schedule & Growth This is a part-time position to start with the ability to grow. Morning, evening, and weekend availability is valuable. Personal training sessions can be built around scheduled gym hours, evaluations, and other responsibilities. The long-term opportunity is for successful coaches to build a substantial personal training book, increase their coaching schedule, and grow into a larger role within MetFit. About MetFit MetFit has built its reputation as a home for serious strength training. We want coaches who respect that culture while also being able to work with members across a broad range of experience levels and goals. For the right trainer, this position provides something difficult to find when entering a new facility: consistent paid hours, direct access to an established membership base, opportunities to generate clients, and a clear path toward building a successful personal training business inside the gym. To apply, submit your resume along with a brief description of your coaching background and interest in joining MetFit.
