Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and energetic Group Fitness Instructor to lead engaging fitness classes that motivate and inspire participants of all fitness levels. In this role, you will design, deliver, and support diverse group exercise programs that promote health, wellness, and community engagement. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster a positive fitness environment while helping clients achieve their personal health goals. Duties Lead group fitness classes such as aerobics, strength training, cardio, yoga, sculpt, pilates, indoor cycling or specialized sports conditioning sessions with enthusiasm and professionalism Develop innovative class programs that incorporate current trends, biomechanical principles, and body mechanics to maximize participant engagement and safety Ensure all participants receive proper instruction on exercise techniques, manual handling, and safety protocols including first aid and CPR procedures Monitor participant performance during classes, providing personalized coaching and modifications as needed to accommodate different fitness levels Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment by setting up equipment, ensuring proper gym etiquette, and adhering to health and safety standards Stay updated on industry best practices by participating in ongoing professional development in areas such as physiology knowledge, strength and conditioning training programs, and sports coaching techniques Communicate effectively with clients to foster motivation, provide feedback on progress, and address individual concerns or questions Requirements Preferred, 1 year of more of experience in the fitness industry with a strong background in group fitness instruction or personal training Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation is mandatory before leading a class solo. Ability to operate a small studio on your own including opening and closing, basic computer skills, and general studio policies. We do have front desk and management, however they are not in for every class. Ability to design comprehensive fitness programs tailored to diverse client needs including athletes or those new to exercise Excellent communication skills with a focus on client service and team collaboration Demonstrated ability to lead motivating classes while maintaining safety standards at all times Group Fitness or Personal Training certification is preferred, however this can be achieved once coming on staff as well. The ability to teach 2 or more classes per week. Evenings, weekends, and early mornings depending on the current schedule needs. Strong communication skills, and willing to communicate outside of scheduled class times via text message with the owner.
