Job Description

Do you have a passion for helping people with their health and wellness goals? Are you able to lead a team and provide encouragement and inspiration to both health seekers and your team members? If the answer is YES then you should consider joining the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas as our Personal Training Director. This person will lead our health and wellness staff across two of our branch locations, and will seek to drive the achievement of fitness goals of members participating in personal training through the development of personal trainers as well as working to engage members in improving their overall wellness by collaborating with all departments.
Key Position Responsibilities:
Works closely with the Association Director of Personal Training, Executive Directors, and Membership Directors to maximize member engagement and assist members to reach their health and fitness goals. Oversees the Personal Training and Wellness Coach staff at each branch location. Utilizes data to make improvements as well as member feedback. This position in relationship with the Association Director of Personal Training, is responsible for monitoring the fitness floor environment to ensure that the YMCA is a welcoming place for current and potential members as well as health seekers. Cleanliness of the fitness center and building is high priority. This person will be a role model for developing relationships, interacting effectively with members, and different levels of staff. Incumbent should have good presentation skills and be comfortable speaking in front of groups. This position requires participation in our Personal Training Department, knowledge on fitness machines and equipment, an educational background to coach and develop personal trainers regarding business and client exercise programming. The person in this position facilitates the improvement of the member experience based on member survey data as well as information from the branch leadership staff. This position will oversee 2 YMCAs and will visit and support each branch weekly. The position will also support these branches in wellness engagement, events, and member engagement events.
Qualifications:
At least one year of experience leading and managing a team of fitness professionals Experience in coaching and developing staff, fostering growth, and promoting a culture of accountability Hands-on experience developing and implementing personalized fitness plans for a full roster of clients Must have demonstrated experience in attracting and retaining members through relationship building and effective marketing strategies. Must have a keen business sense and understand the dynamics of human behavior change. Must be familiar with current fitness trends. Must have a current, NCCA accredited personal training certification.
