Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Youth Sports Instructor / Early Childhood Fitness Instructor, where your energy and passion for sports and physical activity will inspire children to develop healthy habits, teamwork, and confidence. In this paid role, you will lead engaging, age-appropriate sports and fitness activities designed to promote physical literacy, coordination, and fun. Your enthusiasm will help foster a positive environment that encourages children to explore movement, learn new skills, and enjoy staying active from an early age. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners while honing your coaching and leadership skills. Responsibilities Plan and deliver lively sports and fitness classes tailored to children's developmental stages, including activities like soccer, basketball, climbing, martial arts such as karate, and swimming. Lead engaging sessions that promote teamwork, behavior management, and sportsmanship while ensuring safety at all times. Demonstrate proper techniques for sports-specific skills and teach children the fundamentals of physical education in a fun and motivating manner. Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and achievements during classes. Monitor children closely during activities to ensure safety; operate AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and provide first aid or CPR when necessary. Foster a positive environment that encourages participation, confidence-building, and enjoyment of physical activities. Collaborate with team members to develop innovative programs that incorporate various sports skills such as soccer coaching, basketball drills, climbing exercises, or swimming lessons. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in a sports or childcare setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of sports coaching techniques across multiple disciplines including soccer, basketball, martial arts (karate), climbing, or swimming. Certification in first aid and CPR; AED operation certification is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Experience teaching physical education or leading sports-specific training sessions is desirable. Background in team leadership or coaching roles within youth sports teams or health clubs enhances your candidacy.
