Job Description

Pilates Trainer McKinney Movement Center McKinney, TX Job Details Full-time $19,500 - $26,000 a year 7 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Gym membership Professional development assistance Opportunities for advancement Flexible schedule Free fitness classes Qualifications Certified Personal Trainer CPR Certification Anatomy knowledge Sports coaching experience Biomechanics Teaching AED Certification Full Job Description About Us McKinney Movement Center is a locally owned boutique Pilates studio in Craig Ranch — and it is not a gym. We teach comprehensive Pilates rooted in traditional methodology — Reformer, Tower, Chair, Cadillac, barrels, mat, and props — informed by the latest science and research around the mechanics of movement. The whole system, the way it was built to be taught, brought forward with what we now know about how bodies actually work. Not one piece of equipment on repeat. Our classes cap at six, so our instructors know every client by name, by body, and by what they are working toward. Nothing here is random. Every exercise is chosen for a reason, for the person in front of us. That is what we mean when we say move smarter to feel better . We believe movement is a skill anyone can learn, and that the right coach changes everything about how it feels to live in your body. Here is what makes this role different: we are not looking for someone who already teaches Pilates. We are looking for someone who understands how the body works and wants to learn how to teach it beautifully. We run an NPCP-approved teacher training program right here in our studio, which means we do not hire pre-formed instructors and hope they fit our culture. We find people with a strong foundation and genuinely good hearts, and we teach them the rest — the method, the equipment, the cueing, the art of holding a room. We train the coach we would want for our own mother, our own daughter, ourselves. If you have spent your education or your career learning how bodies move, and you have been waiting for the place that will actually invest in you — come talk to us. Who We're Looking For You likely come from one of these backgrounds: Physical therapy tech or physical therapy assistant Exercise science, kinesiology, or athletic training student or grad Certified personal trainer Aspiring physical therapist or occupational therapist (pre-PT / pre-OT) Dance, gymnastics, or collegiate athletics background with real body awareness And you bring these things with you: Confidence. You can stand in front of six adults and lead the room. You do not apologize for taking up space. This is the single thing we can teach the least of, so we hire for it. A team player, full stop. Our team covers for each other, gives real feedback, and roots for each other out loud. We have no room for cliques or drama — the industry has plenty of that, and we have intentionally built something different. Coachability. You will be trained in our method. You will be corrected, often, in your first year. The people who thrive here get excited about that instead of defensive. Genuine care for people. Our clients come to us in pain, post-surgery, post-baby, post-fifty-and-starting-over. They need someone who sees the whole person. Reliability. Clients build their weeks around their sessions. Showing up on time, prepared, every time, is the baseline. You do not need prior Pilates certification. You do not need to have taught before. We will teach you the method, the equipment, the cueing, and the art of running a room. What You'll Actually Do Lead small-group classes (capped at six) and one-on-one sessions across the comprehensive system — Reformer, Tower, Chair, Cadillac, barrels, mat, and props Program sessions intentionally — every exercise chosen for a reason, based on who is in front of you Modify and progress work for real bodies: injuries, limitations, pregnancy, athletes, and everyone in between Coach with clarity and energy so clients leave feeling stronger and more capable than when they walked in Track client progress and communicate it — clients stay when they can feel and see what is changing Keep the studio and equipment safe, clean, and ready for the next person Show up for team meetings, continuing education, and the ongoing work of getting better at this Requirements Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics — from school, a certification, or clinical experience Comfort teaching, coaching, or leading people in a physical setting Availability for 15-25 hours per week, including some early mornings and evenings Willingness to complete our in-house certification training and commit to teaching at MMC afterward (scholarship support available) CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain before teaching) Reliable, professional, and drama-free What You Get Comprehensive certification training through our NPCP-approved program , taught one-on-one and in small groups by our owner and lead trainer — not a weekend equipment course, but a full education in traditional Pilates methodology alongside current science on anatomy, biomechanics, and the mechanics of movement Scholarships available covering up to 75% of tuition for the right candidates, paired with a commitment to teach at MMC Teaching rate offered once you are on the schedule Studio access to practice, learn, and build your own movement practice Ongoing mentorship, not a one-and-done onboarding — we study new movement research and do continuing education together as a team A real career path: many of our instructors use this as the foundation for PT school, OT school, or a full-time career in movement A team that actually likes each other How to Apply Apply here with your resume and a short note telling us two things: What your background in movement or body science is Why you want to teach Strong applicants will be invited to a phone conversation, then to an in-person open call at the studio where you will move, learn a few exercises, and teach them back to us. No experience required — we want to see how you learn and how you carry yourself in a room. McKinney Movement Center — Craig Ranch, McKinney, TX Move smarter to feel better.
