What you'll do We are looking for an experienced trainer to lead our group training program (12-15 sessions per week) and who is driven to add an additional 8-12 personal training sessions to their schedule. We take pride in helping our coaches fill their schedules and you'll get plenty of support from us
- we simply ask that you provide great training and jump on opportunities to train new members!
You will lead group classes through 212's existing program, but we also want you to contribute to the programming. We will teach you our goals and methodologies so that you can program your own training cycles within your first 90 days at 212. You will be able to program workouts for personal training members independently from day one, while still being provided with programming support from the 212 coaching team. We want you to provide members with the coaching basics
- instruction on how to perform exercises correctly and safely and give individual feedback on their movement. We also want you to help them take their workouts further
- modifying workouts and exercises as necessary for each individual so they get the most out of their training and bringing an extra level of excitement and enthusiasm to the workouts, so the members leave feeling better than when they came in.
Qualifications You should have high character, care about the success of the members, strive for excellence and be driven to improve. We ask our lead group coach to be detail oriented, as this is critical for the success of our members. An outgoing, energetic personality is a must
- we want our members to push themselves, but also to enjoy training!
Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in personal training or group fitness coaching in a professional setting. We prefer 2-3 years of combined experience, including at least 1 year coaching groups of 8 or more members. We require all our coaches and trainers to hold an active certification and accept certifications through NSCA, NASM, ACSM or ACE. A degree in exercise science or related field is preferred. We also require our coaches and trainers to have an active CPR/AED certification. Why 212 Fitness We are passionate about helping our members improve their lives through strength and fitness. Schedule Our preferred schedule for group training coverage: Early morning Monday Evening Tuesday Evening Wednesday Late morning Thursday Early morning Friday 1 Friday evening and Saturday morning per month This is our ideal fit, but we have some flexibility for the right candidate—if your availability is close but not exact, we still want to hear from you. On top of that, we're looking for flex availability middays and on one additional morning and one additional evening per week to take on personal training clients.
