The Pilates Instructor is responsible for providing quality Pilates classes, adhering to industry standards and designed to meet the needs of members, participants or guests. Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercisingArriving to teach class in advance of the scheduled time to greet participants, answer questions and address concerns.
- Teaching a safe and effective Pilates Apparatus class.
- Participating in Team events
Dressing appropriately for teaching exercise classesArriving well-prepared, music cued and routine thought outKnowing the names of participants who attend your classesSharing educational information with your class participantsTeaching classes with energy and enthusiasmMotivating class participants to the best of your abilityNoting new participants and sharing basic exercise information with themKeeping up-to-date on safety and fitness trendsReporting any equipment/facility problems to the management teamBegins and ends all classes on time.
Ensures that class areas are clean and set according to procedures.
Attends all scheduled meetingsAttends schedules professional trainings.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must hold a nationally recognized Pilates Apparatus Certification or in the process of obtaining a
- nationally recognized Pilates Apparatus Certification.
- Must hold a CPR certification.
Must be coachable and adaptable to meet the needs of the program and members. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to work positively with different populations, in groups and individuallyMust be well-organized and prepared to teach classesMust be in good physical condition to teach group exerciseMust be able to think independently and develop routines for teaching specific exercise classesMust be able to keep confidences and practice discernmentAbility to lift 25 lbsAbility to stand for long periods of timeAwareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injuryThis position required the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talkThe employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and armsNormal work hours: varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays Arch Amenities Group is an equal employment opportunity employer that is committed to having a diverse work force.
