Build a coaching career at Anchor Training Club Paid Internship → Part-time Assistant Coach → Full-time Assistant Coach Anchor Training Club is a personal training club in Seattle. We help adults build strength, consistency, and confidence through individual coaching in a setting of up to four clients per coach. We are hiring a paid Personal Training Intern who wants to develop into a part-time Assistant Coach and grow toward a full-time coaching career. You will learn directly from the owner, practice under supervision, and receive specific feedback on your coaching. Stage 1: Paid internship Start with a 30-day paid internship, initially 12 hours per week, in person at 7750 15th Ave NW, Seattle. The hourly pay listed in this posting applies to the internship. All required shadowing, training, preparation, meetings, and assigned work are paid. The weekly schedule will be agreed before you start. Week 1: Learn Anchor's coaching standards, client experience, session preparation, equipment setup, and safety procedures. Observe coached sessions and debrief with your mentor. Week 2: Assist with session preparation, exercise setup, warm-ups, and coaching cues under direct supervision. Practice accurate session notes and client communication. Week 3: Lead agreed portions of sessions while your mentor observes. Demonstrate that you can apply feedback, follow the client's program, and recognize when to ask for help. Week 4: Complete observed coaching within your approved scope and meet with the owner for a written decision by day 30 about moving into a part-time Assistant Coach role. You will receive weekly feedback and a formal midpoint review. We assess safe coaching and judgment, clear client communication, preparation and follow-through, accurate documentation, and your ability to apply feedback. Stage 2: Part-time Assistant Coach If offered a continuing role after the internship, you will join as a part-time Assistant Coach. You will take responsibility for assigned personal training sessions, prepare and document sessions, support client onboarding and progress reviews, and maintain studio standards. Mentorship continues as you build experience and a consistent coaching schedule. Your part-time offer will specify pay, weekly hours, schedule, and responsibilities. Progression depends on demonstrated readiness and the availability of an ongoing role. Completing the internship does not automatically guarantee an offer. Stage 3: Full-time Assistant Coach The longer-term goal is a full-time salaried Assistant Coach position. Progression from part time to full time depends on consistent coaching performance, readiness for greater responsibility, and sufficient client demand to support a full-time role. We will review your development and discuss opportunities to increase responsibility and hours. The full-time transition has no fixed date. Any full-time offer will state salary, weekly schedule, benefits, and start date in writing.
