Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacist position is available in a hospital setting located in Fort Wainwright, AK, offering the opportunity to work on a contract basis starting mid-September. This role involves providing pharmacy services in a dynamic healthcare environment, focusing on hospital pharmacy orders and product verification.
Schedule/Hours:
8-hour shifts with variable start times between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM Shifts may include weekdays and weekends An 11:00 AM shift is generally not followed by a 7:00 AM shift the next day Holiday shifts required as needed, typically 4 to 5 hours in length
Responsibilities:
Manage and verify hospital pharmacy orders with accuracy and attention to detail Ensure proper dispensing of medications in compliance with hospital protocols Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy Utilize electronic health systems, with Cerner experience preferred, to support pharmacy operations
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting Familiarity with standard hospital pharmacy orders and product verification processes Active Alaska Pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain a temporary AK license Candidates without an active AK license must apply within 24 hours of job acceptance
