Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A hospital pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist with experience in a hospital setting. This contract role offers variable 8-hour shifts with start times ranging from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, including weekends and holiday coverage as needed. Holiday shifts are typically shorter, lasting 4-5 hours. The position begins approximately mid-September in the North Pole area, with coverage also extending to Fairbanks, Alaska.
Responsibilities:
Accurately process and verify standard hospital pharmacy orders to ensure patient safety. Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage medication distribution effectively. Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Utilize electronic health record systems, with experience in Cerner preferred. Provide coverage during holiday periods as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a hospital pharmacist. Familiarity with standard hospital pharmacy orders and product verification procedures. Active Alaska pharmacist license or temporary license. Candidates without an active license must apply for the Alaska license within 24 hours of job offer acceptance. Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is preferred.
Schedule:
8-hour shifts with start times at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, or 11:00 AM. Variable days of the week including weekends. Holiday shifts as needed with shorter hours.
