Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Mail Order Pharmacy | Rainsville, Alabama A mail order pharmacy in Rainsville, Alabama is seeking a qualified Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will hold active pharmacist licenses in both Illinois and Alabama, as the Illinois license governs key PIC responsibilities.
Schedule:
Approximately 8 hours per week Flexible hours as long as all PIC duties are completed
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations Develop, maintain, and oversee pharmacy policies, SOPs, and quality assurance programs Oversee dispensing accuracy, patient safety, and daily operational workflows Fulfill all Illinois PIC compliance documentation and reporting requirements Supervise pharmacy personnel involved in mail order medication fulfillment Manage controlled substance oversight, including DEA recordkeeping and reporting Prepare for and manage audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action plans Ensure proper storage, handling, packaging, and shipment of medications Review and approve updates to SOPs, compliance logs, and regulatory submissions Serve as primary liaison to state boards, accreditation bodies, and auditors
Qualifications:
Active pharmacist licenses in Illinois and Alabama (required) Additional licenses in Tennessee or Georgia are a plus Prior experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or in pharmacy leadership roles Strong knowledge of mail order pharmacy operations and fulfillment workflows Ability to work independently and manage regulatory oversight effectively within a limited hours schedule This contract role offers the flexibility to manage your schedule while leading critical pharmacy compliance and operations.
